Clear steps. No surprises. Guidance the whole way
Insurance shouldn’t be confusing. Here’s exactly how it works — from our first conversation through to application and, if needed, claim time.
Stage 1 — Understanding the Terrain
Step 1 — The Scout Session
An initial conversation to understand your work, income, liabilities, family, goals, and concerns. No sales pitch — just clarity around what needs protecting.
Stage 2 — Mapping the Right Cover
Step 2 — Market Research & Strategy
Whenever I recommend an insurance product, I compare multiple leading insurers across New Zealand — typically five to six of the strongest providers in the market.
I don’t compare them on price alone. I assess policy wording, financial strength ratings, claims reputation, and how each insurer operates behind the scenes.
It’s easy to assume insurers are all the same. They’re not. The right provider needs to be financially sound, reliable at claim time, and efficient to deal with — not simply competitive on premium.
Step 3 — The Tailored Plan
You receive a clear, plain-English recommendation. We walk through what you need, why you need it, what you don’t, and how it works together.
My job is to make sure you understand exactly what you’re considering — so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
Stage 3 — Securing the Cover
Step 4 — Application & Underwriting
I guide you carefully through the application process, making sure all relevant information is properly disclosed.
Getting this right from the start helps prevent complications later — especially at claim time, where non-disclosure can create issues.
Step 5 — Cover Confirmed
Once approved, your cover goes live. You receive a clear summary — and the reassurance that you’re financially protected in the event of illness or injury.
Stage 4 — Living with Confidence
Step 6 — Ongoing Reviews
My role doesn’t end once your cover is in place. As your occupation, income, debt, business, or family situation changes, we review and adjust your protection to keep it properly aligned.
Not over or under-insured — structured for the life you’re living now, and for when it’s needed most.
Step 7 — Claim Time
If something happens, you don’t deal with the insurer alone — you call me first. I help structure the claim properly, gather the right documentation, liaise with the insurer, and keep the process moving, advocating for you when needed.
This is when advice truly matters, and when I’m most valuable.
